Key Music Australia Showcase

All Band students| From 8 Primary Schools |4 huge band performances|1 incredible night of music

Join us for a very special evening as we celebrate 20 years of providing music education in primary schools.

This is a showcase of Key Music Australia talent, and is sure to be a super fun night.

For the very first time, Key Music Australia students from across our 8 primary schools will join together and perform onstage in the Concert Hall at The Concourse, Chatswood. Students will be grouped into 1 of 4 performance groups, and every performer will have the rare opportunity to play for around 20 minutes each in an extended band performance on a professional stage.

To help us prepare for such a large event, we require every band student to confirm their attendance for this event. The deadline is Friday 6th September. Please click here to complete a Confirmation of Attendance Form. You must complete a separate Confirmation of Attendance Form for each child.

About the Showcase:

Tuesday 12th November

Students need to arrive at 5:30pm at The Concourse, Chatswood.

Doors open for ticket holders at 6pm

The event concludes at 9:30pm

Please note: all performers must stay for the duration of the event- early departures are not possible.

Students are required to bring their music and instrument (keyboards, amps, drums and percussion instruments will be provided and percussion players just bring drumsticks). Performers will be grouped into 1 of 4 performance groups and each group will have extended performance time onstage at this iconic venue. You will be advised closer to the event about which performance group your child has been placed into.

There is no cost to perform.

Parents will be able to purchase a limited number of audience tickets. We expect the event to sell out, and it is possible that not all parents will be able to purchase a ticket. Tickets will go on sale in late September. More information will be communicated about ticket sales closer to the time, but we expect tickets to be priced around $30-$40 each. To allow as many parents as possible to attend, there will be a cap on how many tickets you can purchase initially.

Information For Parents

  • This is a special event and you must confirm your child’s attendance by the deadline of 6th September.
  • You must advise us if you have confirmed attendance and your child can no longer attend.
  • There will not be any prior rehearsals.
  • Students will be advised on the music they will be performing and will have opportunities to practice this during band rehearsals and music lessons between now and the event.
  • We will communicate with all confirmed attendees closer to the date to confirm what to wear and which performance group they are playing in.
  • As a special event, there will be photography taken on the night. If you are not comfortable with your child being included in photographs, please do not bring them to the event. With up to 500 students involved, it is not possible for us to remove individuals from photographs.
  • This event is all about showcasing how much fun band performances can be. Students will be encouraged to get involved, have a go, and most importantly, have fun!
